donate picture There are almost 7 billion people living on Earth. 3 billion of them live on less than $2 a day About 2 million live on less than $1 a day There are 2.2 billion children in the world today. There will be more tomorrow. 75 percent of people in the world don't have access to potable water, while more than 1.1 billion people in developing countries don't have enough access to water. 12 percent of the world's population uses 85 percent of its water. They do not live in Third World countries. 2.6 billion people don't have basic sanitation facilities. About a third of people on Earth don't have electricity.

The Cold, Hard Result of This Poverty: 1.4 million people die each year because they don't have access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation. 26,500-30,000 children die died today because of poverty. According to UNICEF, they die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death. The 21st century started with more than illiterate people - people unable to read a book or sign their name. In 2000, 1 percent of the total world expenditure on weapons of war is all that's needed to put every child in the world in a school. It didn't happen.

Child sponsorship is the best way to help a child, family and community build a future free from poverty. Sponsorship connects you with one needy child in a developing country. That little boy or girl becomes your ambassador to a place and culture you might otherwise never know. Through letters, pictures and small gifts you'll get to know your sponsored child and be a part of his or her life. You can make it possible for your sponsored child and his or her family to benefit from our programs. That means clean water to drink, nutritious food and access to medical care, and much more...

Can your sponsorship really help a child?
Live Brave Be The Cure has developed cost-effective programs that help make lasting changes in the life of your sponsored child and your child's community. Plan is very active in the community, so many of your child's neighbors also have sponsors. Their sponsorship gifts are combined with your gift to fund projects that benefit all the children.

What does child sponsorship cost?
The tax deductible contribution is $25 a month. You can make your gift monthly, quarterly , twice annually , or annually. You can also make a one time sponsorship donation. FEED A CHILD

About half of the world's hunger lives in the Indian subcontinent. Another 40 percent lives in Africa and Asia. The largest groups of remaining, undernourished people live in Latin America or other Third World countries. Children in these developing countries do not receive the nutrition in their growing years that we take for granted, stunting and affecting physical development and general health for their entire life. The problem is worsened by recent, alarming increase in food prices around the world. It is easy to feel helpless when you watch people around the world suffer. The current global food crisis is being called a "silent tsunami" that could force an additional 100 million people on every continent into hunger. Your one gift could help ease the pain of hunger of thousands.

Your donation is crucial because it enables us to identify malnourished children in need and provide them with porridge rich in essential nutrients and calcium-rich milk for an entire month.
