OUR MISSION

globe We are a non-profit, organization that helps children of India with immediate financial needs. We recognize poverty can be both a chronic condition and one that may be created by unexpected economic emergencies.

Our current program is to develop and implement innovative ways to provide food to hungry children living in poverty in India as quickly as possible.

Millions of these children suffer the physical, emotional, spiritual, social and economic hardships engendered by poverty. Without help, they have little hope for a future. We provide practical help and financial support to those children to improve their living conditions and home life. Poverty is a social disease that can be cured. All it takes is to Live Brave. Be the Cure.

WHY US

boy Live Brave Be the Cure is based on Five Pillars that support Our Mission

  • All hunger and poverty should be eliminated.
  • All children should have access to shelter.
  • All children should have access to medical care.
  • All children should have access to education.
  • All women should have access to prenatal care.

Live Brave Be the Cure is a carefully crafted organization that begins with successfully defining and implementing a program with a specific target population facing a specific, immediate need. We believe the success of how we meet that need demonstrates our ability to continue to identify populations in need and determine the best way to deliver appropriate services to alleviate the most pressing needs in that population.

Our small size, our personal commitment and our cutting edge business knowledge gives us the flexibility to quickly identify a target group in desperate need and deliver aid through a streamlined, expedited process. Live Brave Be the Cure is vigilant in resisting political pressure, unwarranted interference to divert any aid, be it food medicine or materials for shelter, from its intended recipient.

According to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, India has the highest number of street children in the world. There are no exact numbers, but conservative estimates suggest that about 18 million children live and labor in the streets of India's urban centers. Mumbai, Delhi and Calcutta each have an estimated street-children population of over 100,000. The total number of Child labor in India is estimated to be 60 million.

The level of child malnutrition in India is among the highest in the world, higher even than some countries in sub-Saharan Africa, says the report 'Extent of Chronic Hunger and Malnutrition in India' by the UN's special rapporteur on the right to food. While around 25 percent children globally were underweight, in India the number was 43 percent. A quarter of all neo-natal deaths in the world, (2.1 million) occurred in India, says UNICEF Report 2007 . More than 1 in 5 children who die within 4 weeks of birth is an Indian. Nearly 50 percent of Indian children who die before the age of five do not survive beyond the first 28 days.

Despite significant economic progress, 1/4 of the nation's population earns less than the government-specified poverty threshold of 12 rupees per day (approximately USD $0.25). Official figures estimate that 27.5% of Indians lived below the national poverty line in 2004-2005. A 2007 report by the state-run National Commission for Enterprises in the Unorganised Sector (NCEUS) found that 77% of Indians, or 836 million people, lived on less than 20 rupees (approximately USD $0.41) per day with most working in "informal labour sector with no job or social security, living in abject poverty."

The world needs heroes. Heroes live among us, they are everyday people, like you and I, who value humanity. In the time of uncertainty we must look deep inside ourselves and find the courage to Live Brave Be The Cure.
